Although the Ice Flower is decent, it seems pointless with the existence of the Penguin Suit, which is way better as it also allows you to slide and move better on water like the Frog Suit from Super Mario Bros.The world themes suffer from being kinda generic compared to the older games.The Mega Mushroom and the Blue Shell from its DS predecessor sadly do not appear, and it's not really justified since the Wii's processing capacity is clearly higher than the DS.
An incredibly humoristically Looney Tunes-esque ending in which Bowser (literally) gets crushed by his own castle, although off-screen, but a little bit violent for its rating. The credits are shown as a minigame where the letters in the credits are written on blocks, which can be broken by the playable characters to get coins (all four characters appear, but only the ones controlled by players can get coins). Great bosses, especially the final boss. Yellow Toad and Blue Toad are good new playable characters, and it's interesting to see playable Toads again. Compared to NSMBDS, this game is more challenging (much unlike its successor). Like in the previous game, each of the levels have their own theme. The Koopalings make a return to the Super Mario Bros. It introduces new power ups like the Propeller Suit and the Penguin Suit while bringing back the best of the old ones, such as the Mini Mushroom or the Ice Flower. 
Yoshi makes an appearance as a power up once again after not appearing in the previous game.series to have a multiplayer where all the players can play at the same time instead of taking turns. It is the first game in the Super Mario Bros.In fact, they actually look way nicer and cleaner than its predecessor, as usual.
